Laser Smoking Cessation

You may have heard of the laser smoking cessation technique in conversation or read it in a magazine but what is it and can it help you? In this article I want to outline the background behind using lasers to help you quit smoking and whether or not it might work for you.

If you are a smoker you will probably know how difficult it can be to quit once and for all. The thought that there might be a solution for us [smokers] captures every smoker's imagination.

Unfortunately, the laser smoking cessation process you may have heard about is not the salvation that you hope it might be. This is because it is founded on the ancient art of acupuncture, a system derived without scientific process or rigour and one that is found to be wanting.

Before even bothering to wonder why laser light instead of metal needles or normal light would be a more effective variation of acupuncture, we should also ask whether or not acupuncture itself is a well-founded process for treating smoking (or anything else for that matter).

The answer is a conclusive 'no'! Research from the Cochrane Collaboration shows that acupuncture has no better success at helping people quit smoking than quitting cold turkey. Acupuncture has been found useful only in relieving pain but not in any other field of medicine, addiction treatment or therapy.

The bad news is that this sort of treatment [laser smoking cessation] falls into the sphere of what I call 'meta-medicine'. It is a parallel of metaphysics. It isn't really medicine at all, it is just a 'procedure' based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever!

Whilst there are practitioners out there who will try to sell you laser smoking cessation therapy or so-called bioresonance treatments, their methods are no more proven than standing in a bucket of frogs is for helping you stop smoking.

My advice to you is to stay well clear of unscientific processes to deal with nicotine addiction and tobacco dependence. You are much better off avoiding unspecified herbal concoctions and faith healing methods and sticking closer to the mainstream and always demanding a 100% money back guarantee.

Smoking Cessation Benefits – Enjoy the Benefits of Quitting Smoking With This Technique

Are you looking to enjoy smoking cessation benefits? Your life will improve in so many ways once you quit smoking. Some people try and try but never manage to stop smoking. But there is a technique that can almost guarantee your success. I will tell you more about that in a little bit but let's first look at the benefits you will gain from quitting smoking.

First of all you will experience wonderful health benefits. Smoking drastically increases your chances of lung disease, cancer, and heart attacks, amongst other things. Quitting smoking can help to stop the deterioration that smoking causes to your body. Over time your health may return to that of a non-smoker.

You will also look and feel younger. Smoking causes skin damage leading to premature wrinkling. It also makes your fingers and teeth yellow, and your skin look ashen. When you stop smoking skin damage will stop and you will look healthier.

You will gain a sense of accomplishment and pride like you have never experienced before. Imagine just how great you will feel knowing that you have conquered your worst habit and shown just how strong you really are.

Well you can do it; actually you can do it quite easily. That technique I mentioned earlier? It is all you need to beat your smoking habit and enjoy all these benefits of quitting smoking.

It is called NLP, or Neuro Linguistic Programming. It is a therapy technique that has been around for decades, but only recently applied to help smokers beat their addiction with astonishing success. It is an all natural technique that works so well because it targets and removes cravings to smoke. Without cravings quitting smoking becomes easy.

How successful is NLP? In a recent test 5,000 smokers participated in a special session of NLP specifically designed to help smokers beat their addiction to cigarettes. 99.7% of the participants managed to quit smoking for at least one month. Six months later a remarkable 97.2% of the participants were still enjoying smoking cessation benefits.

Safe Plastic Surgery

Any intervention into the human organism, especially surgery, carries risk. When it is elective cosmetic surgery, and not an emergency, risk factors should be avoided as much as possible.

Plastic surgery is performed only when the patient is healthy. In case of local anesthesia, blood pressure must be normal. If the blood pressure is high during ear or eyelid surgery (or while operating on other parts of the face), bruising may start appearing after the procedure. Women should not undertake more complicated surgery, such as face surgery or tummy tuck, during their period.

In case of general anesthesia, the patient is not allowed to undergo surgery during chronic or acute illnesses (for instance, infectious diseases or when the patient has caught a cold). Before the operation, blood tests, reflecting general condition of the organism, are usually carried out. In some cases, additional tests are required.

Often, if the patient is very overweight, plastic surgery is postponed since there is a greater risk of complications for obese people. They should consult with a dietitian and drop some weight before undergoing a surgery. Usually, patients come to plastic surgery specialists expecting to lose weight after liposuction. However, it is not so: after a liposuction procedure, fat is reduced only in the operated areas, so not much fat is actually lost.

The risk of complications is also greater if the patient is a smoker. The blood flow to the skin and deeper layers is restricted; therefore, healing of the tissues affected during the surgery may be impaired. The risk of complications related with general anesthesia is also increased. Patients are recommended to stop or reduce smoking. If a patient smokes more than 10 cigarettes a day, it is already dangerous.

Ever more patients go for plastic reconstructive or cosmetic surgery abroad. They should remember that flights are also a certain risk. By the way, it concerns women more than men. Deep vein thrombosis, also called "economy-class syndrome" is associated with lengthy and uncomfortable sitting in the plane; also, dehydration - excessive water loss in the body due to dry air. Blood clots may form in the veins and pass into the brains or lungs. The exact reasons for this problem are not known, but the risk factors are abundant. One of them is a recent surgery. Others: long hours keeping the lower limbs unmoved, obesity, drinkable contraceptive devices or varicose veins. In spite of this, travelling by plane will be safe, if patients keep to the following recommendations:

if possible, postpone a long haul flight for several days after the surgery;

avoid carrying heavy luggage several weeks after the surgery;

drink as much water as possible during the flight (at least 1 l / h)

avoid products that can speed up dehydration (caffeine and alcohol);

exercise and do some walking (if possible) during the flight;

inform your physician or surgeon about the planned flight.

In some cases, additional means to reduce the risks carried by long flights are recommended.
