Several decades ago, when facelifts were rare, there were a lot of controversy about the use of surgery to improve a person face feature. A few of the Hollywood stars in the 50's and 60's were very reluctant to reveal they had surgery.

Now, plastic surgery has become common and normal in our society. It isn't normal for us to have one of our family member to have a facelift or get a quick Botox injection. There are a lot reality television shows that promotes plastic surgery to the public. For example, shows like, 'Extreme Makeover' encourage people to change the way they look by promoting the fact that their whole lives can change within an instant and you will automatically become popular.

Several decades ago, in the beauty pageants, it was controversial if one of the contestants had surgery to improve the looks. In those days, they prefer the 'natural looks' of women. Currently, it is normal for a Miss Universe to have several cosmetic surgery performed on them.

However, with the growing popularity of plastic surgery, there is an increasing number of unscrupulous people has now see the opportunity to easily exploit vulnerable people. As a result, death rates and major complications has increased because of these people. Therefore, when you have plastic surgery make sure the surgeon is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. A board member should have more than six years of surgical training and three years practicing in plastic surgery. This will ensure that you have the best treatment and outcome available.
